Privacy Policy
This policy explains how GenX Quiz Show (the "app"), published by Brainstorm Innovative Technologies, LLC ("we", "us"), handles information. We wrote it to be read, so it is short and plain.
1. The short version
- There are no accounts. You never sign up, log in, or give us your name or email to play.
- The questions are built into the app, so it plays fully offline. Apart from advertising and purchases (section 5), the app does not use the network at all.
- Your best scores and the list of questions you have already seen are saved on your device only. We never receive them.
- We run no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service of our own, and the app contains no code that reads your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- The only information we receive is what you choose to send us by email or phone (section 6).
- Advertising and purchases are the one place where information could leave your device, and only in a version of the app that includes them. Section 5 sits in its own box so you can find it and see exactly what applies.
2. Who we are
GenX Quiz Show is published by Brainstorm Innovative Technologies, LLC. Our contact details are in section 11.
3. What is saved on your device
The app saves two small things in its own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- Your best score for each category. This is the score and the number of questions in that round, for example 17 out of 20.
- A list of the questions already shown to you. These are internal reference codes for questions, not your answers. The app uses the list to deal you questions you have not seen yet before repeating any.
That is everything the app stores. It stays on your device, we cannot see it, and it is not sent anywhere.
How to erase it. Open the About screen in the app and choose "Reset my best scores and question history". This clears both items. Deleting the app also removes them.
Device backups. Depending on your device and its settings, a backup of your whole device made by your device maker or its cloud service may include the app's saved data. You control those backups in your device settings. We have no access to them.
4. What the app does not do
- It has no accounts, no login, and no sign-up.
- It does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, address, or any other personal details.
- It contains no code that accesses your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or notifications.
- The question bank is bundled inside the app. The app has no server of ours to talk to and does not download questions.
- It includes no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting service run by us.
5. Advertising and purchases
Status: not in this version. The version of GenX Quiz Show this policy describes contains no advertising and no in-app purchase, so nothing in this section applies to it yet.
We plan to make the game free to play with ads, plus one small one-time purchase that removes them. A version of the app that includes ads or that purchase will not be released before this section has been replaced with a full disclosure that names the advertising partner and lists what it collects, and before the date at the top of this page has changed.
This version does not sell or share personal information, because it has none to sell or share.
6. Messages you send us
If you email or call us, for example to report a wrong answer, we receive whatever you tell us along with your email address or phone number. We use it only to answer you and to look into and fix the problem you raised. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it. We keep a message only as long as we need it for that purpose and for ordinary business records.
7. Other companies and this website
Your app store and device maker. You download the app from an app store run by another company, and it runs on a device made by another company. They may collect their own information, for example about downloads, or crash reports if you choose to share them. That is governed by their policies, not ours, and we do not receive it in a form that identifies you.
This website. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or images, so there is nothing to opt out of. As with any website, our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs (such as the address of the device that asked for a page, the time, and the page requested) for security and operation.
8. Children
GenX Quiz Show is made for adults who remember the 1980s. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices
We keep no personal information about you on any server of ours, so there is no profile for us to show you, correct, or delete. The only data we may hold is the email or call you sent us (section 6); if you want it deleted, ask us and we will delete it. If you live somewhere that gives you privacy rights by law, you may exercise them by contacting us, and we will honor valid requests. What is saved on your device is yours to erase at any time, as described in section 3.
Information handled by an advertising partner, in a version of the app that has one, is covered in section 5 along with your choices there.
10. Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. In particular, a version of the app that adds advertising or a purchase will not be released before section 5 has been updated to describe it.
